Occupation 1824 - Went to work for himself on Mill street where he eventually established T. Rankine and sons bisquit factory. This business remained and grew throughout the next several decades. Mill street is now called Main street.
Anecdote 1844 - Machinery was introduced to the bisquit factory.
Reference Number 2400 Residence Between 1869 and 1870 - Thomas Rankine Sr. lived on Mill St. #6 next to the bakery. his sons lived on Hazen Steet north of Dorchester.
