1009 | William along with his friend and partner Henry STANTON came from RI with a shipload of Quakers about 90 and founded the city of Beaufort, N.C. and established a shipbuilding business. The forests were rich in the trees they needed, white oak and a real pitchy pine. Dianne Perrins (Pruitt) has a copy of his will and when he died he owned about 20,000 acres of land.
